As applied linguists, we are highly trained in the way language choice and cultural differences impact communication. While there are many organizations that offer workshops in effective and strategic communication, there are few that are also versed in the area of applied linguistics like language connectED. Our extensive experience has given us the skills to not simply teach language and tips for effective communication, but rather to analyze the role of pragmatics (the intersection of culture and language choices, both verbal and nonverbal) which is essential to effective and strategic communication. One must be able to make clear and strategic choices related to pragmatics to be a successful communicator. Our experience and extensive professional training in the area of applied linguistics and education positions us to be uniquely qualified for this work.
